Privacy Notice
How PeerDoor uses your data
PeerDoor connects people preparing for jobs with mentors who work at the companies they’re aiming for. To do that we need some of your personal data. This notice says, plainly, what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how you stay in control. Effective 26 October 2026.
What we collect
If you’re preparing for a job (a candidate)
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored securely, never readable by us).
- Your goal: the roles and companies you’re aiming for, and your experience, if you add them.
- When you book or buy a service: your answers about what you want help with, your resume and LinkedIn (if you share them), and your payment (handled by Razorpay; we never see your card or bank details).
- What you send: chat messages and files, your feedback and ratings, and support messages.
If you’re a mentor
- Your application: your name, work and personal email, phone, role, company, experience, past companies, LinkedIn, photo, intro video and answers.
- To pay you: your UPI ID, and records of what you’ve earned and been paid.
- Your profile and work: your services, prices and hours, what you deliver, your chat messages, and any blog posts.
For everyone
- Calls: video calls happen in your browser; if you agree to recording, their audio, transcript and summary.
- Security and activity logs: sign-ins, and actions taken on your account, to keep it safe.
- When something breaks: a technical report of the error (the page, your browser, what failed), so we can fix it. It doesn’t include your name, email or messages.
- Page visits: which pages are visited and roughly where from, counted without cookies and without identifying you, so we can see what’s useful.
Why we use it
- To run your account and the service: booking intro calls, video calls, chat, paid services, payments, refunds and payouts.
- To show a mentor what they need to help you (and you, the mentor you’re working with).
- To email you about your bookings, services and account.
- To keep PeerDoor safe: preventing fraud and abuse, and fixing problems.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping payment records for tax.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t show you ads.
Call recording and AI summaries
If both people on a call have agreed, its audio is recorded so we can give you both a transcript and an AI-written summary of what was discussed. The audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is made. If either person hasn’t agreed, the call isn’t recorded.
This is your choice, and you can change it any time in Account & privacy. Turning it off stops future calls being recorded.
How long we keep it
| Your account, profile and messages | Until you delete your account (then erased within 14 days, after a grace period to change your mind) |
|---|---|
| Call audio | Deleted as soon as the transcript is made |
| Call transcripts and summaries | Until you delete your account, or withdraw consent for recording (future calls aren’t recorded) |
| Records of payments, orders and payouts | For as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically 8 years), without your name or contact details once your account is deleted |
| Security and activity logs | At least one year, as the law requires, then deleted |
Your rights
- See your data: download a copy any time from Account & privacy.
- Correct it: edit your profile, or ask us.
- Delete it: delete your account from Account & privacy. You’ll have 14 days to change your mind.
- Withdraw consent: turn call recording off in Account & privacy, as easily as you turned it on. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what was done before.
- Nominate someone to act for you if you die or can’t act yourself: email us with their name and contact details.
- Complain: to us first (below); if you’re not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
You must be 18 or older
PeerDoor is for adults. By using it you confirm you’re 18 or older. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we’ll close it and delete their data.
