Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations and refunds
How cancelling, rescheduling and refunds work on PeerDoor. This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Last updated 2 November 2026.
At a glance
- Intro calls are free. Nothing is charged to book, cancel or move one.
- Your payment is held by PeerDoor and only released to your mentor once the service is done.
- You can cancel any part of a service that hasn’t started yet, and we’ll refund it in full.
- Late or unused work is refunded automatically, and if your mentor misses a call, you can get a refund for it.
- Refunds go back to the way you paid, usually within 5–7 working days.
Free intro calls
- Intro calls are free and 15 minutes long. There’s nothing to pay, so there’s nothing to refund.
- You or your mentor can cancel an intro call, or suggest another time, before it starts. Please cancel if you can’t make it, so your mentor’s time isn’t wasted.
How payment works
- After an intro call, your mentor may propose a service. Nothing is charged unless you accept the proposal and pay.
- Your payment is held by PeerDoor, not paid to the mentor straight away. It’s released to them only once the service is done: when you accept delivered work (or automatically 3 days after delivery, unless you raise an issue first), or 1 day after a call takes place.
Cancelling a service
- Before you pay: simply decline the mentor’s proposal. Nothing is charged.
- After you pay, before it starts: you can cancel any part of a service that hasn’t started yet, and we’ll refund it in full. Contact us with your order ID (see Contact us).
- Once a part has started (a call has taken place, or work has been delivered), that part isn’t refundable just because you’ve changed your mind. If something went wrong with it, see If something goes wrong.
- If your mentor can’t complete a service, you’re refunded for every part that wasn’t delivered.
Rescheduling calls
- You or your mentor can propose a new time for a call before it takes place, at no cost. The call goes ahead at the new time once you both agree.
Missed calls
- Attending a call means being in it for at least 3 minutes.
- If your mentor misses it, you can ask for a refund for that call, or pick a new time.
- If you miss it (and your mentor was there), it counts as done, and your mentor is paid for their time.
- If neither of you joins, the call simply needs a new time. No money moves.
Automatic refunds
- Late work: if a mentor misses a delivery deadline by more than 1 day, that part is refunded to you automatically.
- Unused time: every paid service must be used within 30 days. If that time ends before a part of your service happens, that part is refunded automatically.
If something goes wrong
- Raise an issue from the service before it’s accepted. Your payment stays on hold while we look into it.
- We hear from both you and your mentor, and decide fairly. The outcome can be a full refund, a partial refund, or the work being completed.
How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the way you paid, through our payment partner, Razorpay.
- Once a refund is made, it usually reaches you within 5–7 working days, depending on your bank.
- We’ll email you when a refund is made, and you can see it on your dashboard.
